It’s about you and the results you want in your career. Your future is too important to leave to chance, to wait in line for, or to have someone else determine for you. You recognize the need for and are open to investing in yourself so you get the results you want faster and with greater ease.
Your concerns may entail some or all the following:
- You are dissatisfied with where you are at this point in your career. You no longer enjoy what you do, or perhaps you are bored.
- You are working too long, too hard for too little and you are not getting the results you want.
- Your message is not getting through to colleagues, internal partners, prospects, clients, and vendors.
- You want to plan the next step in your career - either internally, or perhaps an "escape plan".
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of clients do you work with?
I work with individuals who are serious about investing in their own personal development. They recognize that the most valuable investment they can make is in themselves. Typically, they have already attained a level of success in their company or profession. The common theme across my individual clients is that they know and want to to accomplish more, whether that is more control of their time, more satisfaction in their relationships at work, more salary, or perhaps a new role with more responsibility. I help them gain more clarity on what it is they would like to accomplish, help them define the first steps and then partner with them to take action.
What types of things do you coach on?
Personal strategic planning, personal effectiveness, delegation, time management, emotional intelligence, leadership, stress management, effective networking and how to coach others.
I often find the professionals I work with are masters at solving problems and developing strategic plans at work, but seldom have they done it for themselves. That’s what I do. I help professionals focus on their personal development and find a path forward to what it is they want to accomplish.
How does the process work?
First we will have a conversation to define what your desired outcome is and whether I can help. If it makes sense to talk again, we will discuss options on how I might be able to help. Assuming I can, we would start with an assessment and agree on what needs to be accomplished and a pathway to how that can be achieved. It can be as simple as 4 one-hour sessions, a quarterly check-in or a 3-month program, but at the end of the day, it is based around you, your needs, your budget, and your bandwidth.
How do I know if it will work for me?
Hiring a coach is not a recipe for instant success, but a step in the right direction. I am very selective in who I work with and have three requirements: I only work with those who are driven to continuous improvement, are open to an outside perspective, and are committed to doing the work. I am a stickler on these criteria because I want my clients to be successful and get results. Each session finishes with a post-session review, so we know pretty quickly if sessions are not hitting the mark.
What are the benefits of working with a coach?
Better results, faster and with greater impact than if you simply try to figure things out on your own. There are many options at your disposal to help you with your personal development, but I believe the most effective method to be coaching.
